Greetings and Salutations via RFTV 100 from Charles Bice-Bey

My name is Charles Bice-Bey (actually my birth name is Charles Stanley Bice-Bey III). I am a student majoring in transfer studies in finance. This is my return to school after 15 years. I am a veteran of the Armed Forces. I have lived in the United Kingdom (3 years) and Saudi Arabia (almost 3 years). I intend to utilize my finance degree in the entertainment industry. After many years of trying to be a Jack of All Trades, I found what I will now try and master using all my skills.

I believe blogs do significantly impacts journalism.

How ironic... A blog discussing the impact of blogs on journalism. It's logically going to happen. Technology has placed us into the digital age. People are rooted in the basic necessity of connecting. The internet is a fast way of sending information. Personally, journalism can be just as credible as someone on a blog (journalist shriek at this notion) and I really don't trust journalism in general.

1. Is blogging a credible source of information?2. How effective is blogging, ie. are blogs effective at reaching an audience?3. How has blogging influenced journalism?

1. If the pot calls the kettle black... then their are both black and news reporting is done. An article by PEGGY NOONAN on <http://www.opinionjournal.com/columnists/pnoonan/?id=110006302> gives insight to credibility. Blogging is a public service. Now there will be inaccuracies I am sure but does the news get it right. For example, while I lived in Saudi Arabia, Americans were targeted by Al Qaeda sympathizers. Unfortunately, one of my company's compounds got attacked and blown up. The news coverage on this was horrible and inaccurate. But the bottom line is freedom of press, regardless if you are trapped inside a company with it's own policies and pensions.

2. Bloggs effectiveness is evident by the fact the Department of Defense utilizes them for intelligence gathering (shown at <http://www.defenselink.mil/transformation/articles/2006-06/ta062906b.html>) The military tracks terrorist activities as well as military criminals. They track them through specific blogs that reaches them. The internet conception was created through the military, and utilized as it has been given to the world public.

3.Blogs have effected journalism.<http://www.post-gazette.com/forum/comm/20030202edmoon02p1.asp> They have even been used as tools in journalism to complement coverage of an issue. Things change and when they do the effect the things around them. Blogging is a new media and should and will be exploited.

The attack of the bloggs aren't bad. The fact that they are revolutionary is why they strongly impact journalism. Imagine, if everyone had a telegraph, radio, telephone and a printing machine, there would be the same impact.
