I have never been guilty of self promotion (hey I am a working actor).
This weeks class adventure on the world wide web goes to "Randi" of http://www.ohvanity.com , who lives in South Africa
Here you can find out about her relationship with Victor has turned for the worst. Randi does have a support group that writes back. Ah the youthful soap opera... I remember those years of dealing with parents.
The other blog is http://actor-preneur.com/ by Alan Nusbaum. Ironically, I read this only to find out I actually have a connection with this author of this blog. I went to the TVI actors studio here in LA.
The differences between the two blogs are that they are different types. Randi's is a blog that is a personal blog. Alan's blog is constructed around my favorite career, acting.
It is interesting that Randi blog invokes feelings from so many people. They support her and identify with her. I felt the familiar sting of parents in the middle of a relationship. With everything going on, I do know one thing from her pictures... This South African likes magic cards. She mentions them and has a few picture to show her Wizard Trading Card treasure. Strange, I feel as if their is some sort of feeling of being entertained as if I am watching TV or better yet a juicey tabloid. She is not famous but just think of the posiblities.
Alan's blog is informative. I have been in Hollywood scene for over three years. There is so much information. As I scroll through Alan's blog, I get a sense of what has been going on in the industry. His blog goes more for the meat and potatoes of providing information. In comparision, it reads like a editorial from a magazine.
I think both of these are potentially effective. The feedback from Randi's site was a significate number. Basically, it got a reaction. I know that Alan knows what he is talking about. For instance, Never lie on you acting resume. His company has been in business for quite some time. I wonder though... As print journalism must try and market to more masses, Alan's feedback is virtually nil. Both websites information is good information but to push this blogging phenomenom, one could probably need to utilize both personal blogs and informative together. It attracts more people. I believe thats why successful magazines have more of a personal appeal to individuals no matter what audience you speak to. Like journalism, it is up to the author.
As I stated before Blogging impacting journalism... OHH YEAH! The numbers of people discussing their hobbies, work, life shows that the masses are out there waiting for the message. Journalist are a resourceful lot, interesting stories come from people. The vestige of blogs is evident. Or why would thousands of websites and blogs talk about it, and it's present and future posiblities.

News hits ezines and blogs of Actor Heath Ledger's death
My sympathy goes out to those who were close to Heath Ledger. Heath career was being to show signs of transforming into a A-Lister.
I searched the Internet for ezines and blogs that covered his death. I found:
Blog: From New Zealand
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/1501119/story.cfm?c_id=1501119&objectid=10488488
and
Ezine: Here in the U.S.
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3i9bc6d6ea7174b34ec34c1f4e070dded7
Both had pretty much the same information. There were differences in some of the details. The Blog utilized all news that was accessible and put together a more comprehensive report than The Hollywood report. The blog had times of from when he was found to when he was pronounced dead. The Ezine stated the exact time of when Ledger was pronounced dead 3:30pm.
I felt both of these sight were credible. The Blog has an advantage that a Ezine doesn't. Myrddin Gwynedd writer of the blog utilized several news sight that cover parts of the tragedy. She went a step forward (a step I believe is difficult for a ezine to do) . She covered more by using information that was supplied by numerous source. There was a conflict of information that The Hollywood Reporter stated that a housekeeper found Ledger and Myrddin Gwynedd stated the New York time reported that Diana Wolozin, a masseuse, found Ledger.
That sets blogs ability to dissemination of information more efficient. Now I know some would say... The date on the blog is the 24 of January 2008. It was reported the same day a few hours later.
Once again blogs are stepping up to journalism.

Blogging has touched the spirit of American Business Enterprise. Entrepreneur utilize their blogs to communicate to each other as well as staying current with business trends.

Tom Foremski, author of this article, agrees with the blog mania. He consults companies about promoting via blogs. The main issue is how do companies use this unexplored communication technology. The problem is most PR, and media firms don't have a solid grasp on its use. Even though companies don't understand, blogs have emerged a force to be reckoned with. The silicon watcher is dedicated to establish a method of utilizing blogging to it potential. Their business blogging and teaching others it uses...

Blogging is simple, and have very low cost. The clever thing needed in blogging is innovative way to promote and advertise that would avoids expensive online advertisements.
Other measures a business would promote it self would be advertisements, and or more tradition measures but it is more expensive. The only objective for businesses is to develop a client base and do business cheaper in order to maximize profits. Blogging is a simple, potentially effective way of self promotion. Other measure of self promotion don't possess the ability to go more in-depth and have an established archive in which clients could see a business progression.
This supports that blogging is impacting journalism.

Greetings and Salutations via RFTV 100 from Charles Bice-Bey

My name is Charles Bice-Bey (actually my birth name is Charles Stanley Bice-Bey III). I am a student majoring in transfer studies in finance. This is my return to school after 15 years. I am a veteran of the Armed Forces. I have lived in the United Kingdom (3 years) and Saudi Arabia (almost 3 years). I intend to utilize my finance degree in the entertainment industry. After many years of trying to be a Jack of All Trades, I found what I will now try and master using all my skills.
I believe blogs do significantly impacts journalism.
How ironic... A blog discussing the impact of blogs on journalism. It's logically going to happen. Technology has placed us into the digital age. People are rooted in the basic necessity of connecting. The internet is a fast way of sending information. Personally, journalism can be just as credible as someone on a blog (journalist shriek at this notion) and I really don't trust journalism in general.
1. Is blogging a credible source of information?2. How effective is blogging, ie. are blogs effective at reaching an audience?3. How has blogging influenced journalism?
1. If the pot calls the kettle black... then their are both black and news reporting is done. An article by PEGGY NOONAN on <http://www.opinionjournal.com/columnists/pnoonan/?id=110006302> gives insight to credibility. Blogging is a public service. Now there will be inaccuracies I am sure but does the news get it right. For example, while I lived in Saudi Arabia, Americans were targeted by Al Qaeda sympathizers. Unfortunately, one of my company's compounds got attacked and blown up. The news coverage on this was horrible and inaccurate. But the bottom line is freedom of press, regardless if you are trapped inside a company with it's own policies and pensions.
2. Bloggs effectiveness is evident by the fact the Department of Defense utilizes them for intelligence gathering (shown at <http://www.defenselink.mil/transformation/articles/2006-06/ta062906b.html>) The military tracks terrorist activities as well as military criminals. They track them through specific blogs that reaches them. The internet conception was created through the military, and utilized as it has been given to the world public.
3.Blogs have effected journalism.<http://www.post-gazette.com/forum/comm/20030202edmoon02p1.asp> They have even been used as tools in journalism to complement coverage of an issue. Things change and when they do the effect the things around them. Blogging is a new media and should and will be exploited.
The attack of the bloggs aren't bad. The fact that they are revolutionary is why they strongly impact journalism. Imagine, if everyone had a telegraph, radio, telephone and a printing machine, there would be the same impact.
